Introduction

Intel launched the 13th generation Desktop processors codenamed ‘Raptor Lake’. The new processors are upgraded for better power efficiency, better benchmarks, support for PCIe 5.0 and up to 16 Lanes transfer rates at 32 GT/s for faster access to discrete graphics, storage, and peripheral devices, and more cores and cache memory.

Description

The exceptional i9-13900K is stacked up with 24 cores, (8 performance and 16 efficiency cores) with Intel’s Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0. The processor achieves a whopping 5.8 GHz clock speed, almost touching the 6.00GHz mark, making it the most powerful desktop processor intel has ever made, which results in better performance in single and multi-threaded workloads. The i7-13700K has 16 (8 performance and 8 efficiency cores), which also supports the Turbo boost max technology 3.0 tops off at 5.4GHz, and can handle workloads efficiently. 14 cores power the mid-tier i513500K, (6 performance and 8 efficiency cores) clocked at 5.1GHz and has no Turbo Boost technology.

Pricing

As per Intel’s official website, the Powerful i9-13900K and KF versions are priced at $589 and $564, the i7-13700K at $409 and the KF variant at $384, the mid-tier i5-13600K and KF at $319 and $294 dollars respectively and will be available starting on October 20, 2022.

Conclusion

The 13th Generation Processors are great and have significant upgrades over previous generation processors. These processors have a new feature called the Thread Director which works closely with Microsoft’s Windows 11 operating system to distribute workloads across the performance and efficiency cores intelligently.
