Exclusive Mi Notebook 14(1C) with inbuilt Webcam launched in India

Mi Notebook 14(1C) comes in 3 variants and single silver colour.

Xiaomi India is targeting big to create market space in the laptop segment in India. Keeping this in mind, the company earlier brought Mi Notebook 14 and Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition, the cheaper Mi Notebook 14 e-Learning Edition in India. And now the company has launched Mi notebook 14 (1C).

Usage of laptops and smartphones have increased owing to the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. Xiaomi has made use of that situation and came up with a bunch of affordable laptops.

Mi Notebook 14(1C): Body dimensions and Weight

In terms of design, the laptop scores decent marks thanks to an all-metal body with an anodized sandblasted coating. The laptop does not carry any branding on its face and the only Mi branding one would see is below the chin of display. Weighing just 1.5 kg and 17.95mm thin (323 mm length and 228 mm width), the notebook looks appealing in a thin and light body while delivering top-notch performance. It is much lighter and more compact than most laptops in this price range.

The new Mi Notebook 14(1C) comes with a 35.56 cm 14-inch full HD (1920×1080) immersive display with an 81.2 per cent screen-to-body ratio and 178-degree viewing angle. Mi Notebook(1C) offers an anti-glare coating to avoid reflections and reduce eye strain while working in a bright environment or under a direct light source. The Full HD resolution made everything look sharp and the brightness levels were decent. It comes with Windows 10 Home pre-installed/ It also supports an in-built 720p HD webcam which is perfect for virtual classrooms, video conferences and meetings and more.

Processor and performance

Mi Notebook 14(1C) comes with a Quad-core 10th Gen Intel Core i5 processor with a max clock speed of 4.2GHz and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 making it a perfect device for multi-tasking. As an optional user can also get NVIDIA GeforceMX250 (2GB GDDR5 VRAM). It is equipped with 8GB DDR4 RAM clocked at 2666MHz and 256GB/512 GB of fast SATA 3 SSD storage, ensuring an overall smooth performance.

Connectivity

In terms of ports 2x Type A USB 3.1 Gen 1, 1x USB 2.0, 1x HDMI, 1x Combo Audio Jack, 1 DC Jack are present. Bluetooth version 5.0 is present and WiFi is Dual-band 802.11ac for seamless connectivity. The keyboard is the same as previous-gen laptops, comes with a dust protection layer and houses a scissor mechanism ABS texture with 1.3mm Key travel and 19 mm pitch per key. The touchpad has the multi touch and gesture support allows for easy swipe, scroll, selection, zoom-in or zoom-out.

Audio and Battery

In terms of audio, the laptop is powered by 2x 2W Speakers with DTS Audio processing app support. It also houses a 3.5mm jack. A 65W adapter is provided in the box that can juice up the 46Wh/3220 mAh battery up to 50 per cent in under 35 minutes and Xiaomi claims a battery backup of 10 hours on a single charge.

The laptop will be good enough to do daily basic stuff such as typing long documents, watching YouTube videos, browsing the internet, writing an email, some casual gaming and few editing.

The laptop comes with Mi’s software like Mi Blaze unlock, Mi Smart Share. The laptop is priced at 43,999 for 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD, i5 10th Gen + UHD Graphics 46,999 for 8GB RAM + 512GB SSD, i5 10th Gen + UHD Graphics and 49,999 for 8GB RAM + 512GB SSD, i5 10th Gen + Nvidia MX250 making it the most affordable laptop in this segment.
