From November 1st, WhatsApp will stop working on outdated smartphone models.
With over two billion users throughout the world, WhatsApp is officially the most popular worldwide instant messaging network.
According to Statistic, it outranks Facebook Messenger, which has 1.3 billion users, and WeChat, which has 1.2 billion users.
Usually every then and now WhatsApp updates will arrive for many users from its official site or in the play store in order to get the right features at right time. At the same time older phones lose their support for WhatsApp. Older operating systems like Symbian, Tizen, Blackberry, KaiOs and other older versions of Android etc are facing this problem already.

The Facebook-owned app, which frequently phases down support for older devices, will do so again in two months, meaning it will no longer work on 43 older smartphone models.
According to media sources, WhatsApp, which has launched a plethora of new features this year, will discontinue supporting older models in order to keep the service secure.
Whatsapp will end its support in these devices
According to WhatsApp’s FAQ website, the app will continue to function for the following periods of time:
- Android devices running OS 4.1 or later
- iPhones with iOS 10 or later
- JioPhone and JioPhone 2 are among the phones that run KaiOS 2.5.1 or newer

Samsung – Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite, Galaxy Trend II, Galaxy SII, Galaxy S3 mini, Galaxy Xcover 2, Galaxy Core and Galaxy Ace 2.
Apple – iPhone SE, 6S and 6S Plus.
LG – LG Lucid 2, Optimus F7, Optimus F5, Optimus L3 II Dual, Optimus F5, Optimus L5, Optimus L5 II, Optimus L5 Dual, Optimus L3 II, Optimus L7, Optimus L7 II Dual, Optimus L7 II, Optimus F6, Enact , Optimus L4 II Dual, Optimus F3, Optimus L4 II, Optimus L2 II, Optimus Nitro HD and 4X HD, and Optimus F3Q
Huawei – Huawei Ascend G740, Ascend Mate, Ascend D Quad XL, Ascend D1 Quad XL, Ascend P1 S, and Ascend D2.

WhatsApp argues that by phasing out support for older phones, the service would become safer. However, Google has stated that sign-in support for earlier Android devices will be discontinued this month, meaning that users with phones running Android 2.3.7 will no longer be able to access fundamental Google services that keep their phones running.
According to WhatsApp’s FAQ page, if you lose access to the app on your previous smartphone, you’ll also lose your communication history. So existing retro phone users have to back up their data and upgrading to a new latest phone is the only possible solution.
