Upcoming New Mediatek Dimensity 2000: Leaked Specifications and features

Rumours circulated last month that MediaTek’s next-generation Dimensity flagship SoCs will be based on the brand new ARMv9 architecture. The new SoCs will be the first to employ TSMC’s 4 nm manufacturing process in terms of architecture. These details have been circulating for a few months, and now Chinese leakers have revealed much more information regarding the platform.

Mediatek Dimensity 2000

With the release of the Dimensity family of 5G chips last year, MediaTek rebranded itself in the market. This year, however, has been even more significant for the Chinese manufacturer, as it has cemented its position as the market’s leading chipset supplier. More importantly, numerous mainstream brands, including Oppo, Realme, Xiaomi, and even OnePlus, have chosen the company. The latter has always used Snapdragon CPUs, but for the OnePlus Nord 2, they used the Dimensity 1200 SoC. MediaTek is well aware of the success of its Dimensity 1200 and is already working on a more appealing successor, the Dimensity 2000.

Mediatek Dimensity 2000 : Specifications

The Dimensity 2000 SoC will include one ARM Cortex-X2 prime core running at 3.0 GHz, according to the leakster. This processor is the immediate successor to the Cortex-X1 found in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 and Samsung’s Exynos 2100 SoCs. The Cortex-X1 was not used in MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 SoC, but it will be used in its next flagship SoC. The power efficiency and overall performance has been significantly increased

The CPU will also have three ARM Cortex-A710 cores and four ARM Cortex-A510 cores in addition to the Central Core. This is the same configuration as the future Snapdragon 898 and Exynos 2200 processors.

As a result, the MediaTek Dimensity 2000 will compete with Qualcomm’s and Samsung’s flagship products. The Dimensity 1200 can be classified as an “entry-level flagship CPU,” as it outperforms most mid-range SoCs but falls short of the Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100 SoCs. In a year, the storey will be different.

The Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 898, according to speculations, will likewise use the 4 nm architecture. They will, however, be manufactured at Samsung’s 4 nm foundries. The Dimensity 2000 will be equipped with a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU for graphics. We expect this to be the first and only chipset to utilise the new Mali G710 for a long. Samsung is abandoning Mali GPUs in favour of AMD GPUs, while Huawei’s chipset manufacturing future is uncertain. For those who don’t know, the Mali G710 is 20% faster than the Mali G78.

With identical characteristics, the best flagship SoC next year will be determined by clock rates and other technologies. The primary core of the Exynos 2200 is clocked at 3.0 GHz. According to the source Ice Universe, Qualcomm may be aiming for a slightly higher frequency of 3.09 GHz.

All three companies are expected to introduce their new 4nm-based processors before the end of 2021, according to speculations. Of course, due to the ongoing turmoil in the semiconductor sector, plans may alter.
