Google Bard is an AI chatbot developed by Google to rival Microsoft’s Bing AI and OpenAI’s ChatGPT. It has evolved from a text-based chatbot to a versatile tool capable of coding, as a research assistant, and soon generating images.
The latest upgrade to the PaLM 2 model has significantly improved Bard’s performance and aligned it with Google’s other AI technologies. While it is a work in progress and may not always provide 100% accurate answers, Bard offers unique features like story writing, compiling to-do lists, and travel advice. Signing up for Bard is now more accessible, as it is available in 180 countries and supports multiple languages, including English, Japanese, and Korean.
However, access to Bard is still restricted in some countries, such as Canada and the European Union, possibly due to regulatory concerns following privacy issues with ChatGPT in Italy. Interested users can find the full list of eligible countries on Google’s support site. Despite its limitations, Google continues to update Bard with new features and improvements, as seen in the Experiment Updates tab. It is an exciting tool for exploring AI capabilities and gaining insights into their workings.
