Twitter unveils a number of new features, including NFTs and Bitcoin payments.

Twitter has revealed that it is testing a tool that will alert users when they are about to join a heated discussion on Spaces.

Twitter, the tweeting powerhouse, revealed a raft of improvements coming to the platform in the next months on Thursday. The company stated today that it will offer NFT authentication for artists shortly.

Artists will be able to connect their crypto wallets and accept money directly through Twitter from other users, according to the firm, which is still “exploring” the function. Users will soon be able to receive tips in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or through crypto wallet apps.

Furthermore, the business stated that it is looking at different ways to display this seal of approval and that it wants to provide customers with additional information and insights about the NFTs they are viewing or purchasing. In a call with reporters today, the business said, “It’s a way to help creators generating amazing work with a stamp to demonstrate legitimacy.”

Twitter Spaces expands

Also getting upgrades is Twitter’s Spaces platform, which is a voice-based social network that operates within the Twitter app. Users will be able to record and replace Spaces discussions after they have occurred, and the business is also working on ways to improve Spaces conversation discovery. Ticketed Spaces, a platform for monetizing these dialogues, will offer more price and audience size possibilities.

The company also stated it is testing a tool called “Communities,” which sounds similar to Facebook’s Groups. Users will be able to connect with people who share similar interests, and the feature is now being tested on the platform.

In addition, Twitter’s Super Follows and Tip Jar services will soon be available to all of its users. Users can use Super Follows to provide subscription-based content on Twitter, and the Tip Jar feature lets them receive one-time payments from followers using third-party payment systems.

All Twitter users with iOS devices will be able to use Tip Jar, which accepts Indian payment methods such as RazorPay. Strike, a platform that allows users to accept Bitcoin payments will be added to the mix as well. It will also be available on Android shortly.
Twitter’s crypto intentions don’t stop there: the business said that it will offer authentication for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) by allowing users to connect their crypto wallets. A firm spokeswoman said, “NFT authentication will come in the form of a badge, viewable on profile photographs, designating the owner’s NFT as real.”

Twitter will implement a tool that allows users to remove themselves from conversations in which they are regularly mentioned by others in their tweets.

Finally, users will be able to filter out “unwanted speech” in their responses using Word filters. Users will be able to ban specific phrases and emojis from appearing in their replies. The product is now in the idea stage, and the business has stated that it will keep users updated on its progress.
