Toyota Motor Corp has announced a temporary shutdown of their domestic manufacturing plant in Japan due to a cyberattack on its supplier who has contributed electronic components. This has resulted in a huge loss of 13,000 cars production. Still, the Japanese govt is in search of the culprit behind this cyber attack.

This cyber-attack comes after Japan joined the Western allies supporting Ukraine after the country got invaded by Russia. But still, no information is available that this may be the reason behind this cyber attack. Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida said, “It is difficult to say whether this has anything to do with Russia before making thorough checks”.
The Kojima Industries Corp, which is one of the main electronic component suppliers of Toyota is identified as the victim of the cyber attack. The representative has defined this cyberattack as a system failure.
The company has yet to decide on the temporary closure of its 14 plants in Japan, which will account for one-third of the global production.
Toyota was already hit by the Covid-19 Supply chain disruptions, now has to face the cyberattack, which is gonna set a huge loss for the company.
