Despite increasing banking spams and social media hacking, people have got no chill in making their passwords stronger. According to the NordPass report, 2.54 million peoples are still using “12346” as their password. As per NordPass, it can be cracked in less than a second. This same password has been exposed 23.6 million times.
When NordPass compared to the previous year’s report, “picture1” and “sneha” has been newly added to the list of the worst password. However, “123456” has been moved to the top from no.2 in the 2020s the worst password report. This is the time for people to make their passwords stronger.
How to create stronger passwords
- Avoid using dictionary words, number combinations. (For example, “password”, “qwerty”, or “123456”).
- Avoid repetitive characters, such as “aaaa” or “123abc”.
- Never reuse passwords across multiple accounts.
- Min 12 characters with a mix of upper- and lower-case letters, numbers, and symbols.
- At least change passwords every 90 days.
