Tata’s first SUV built on ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture )
Tata Motors is India’s largest automobile manufacturer, with a diverse product line that includes passenger, commercial, and defence vehicles. It has also introduced its line of electric and globally safety standard vehicles, making it India’s largest automaker.
Tata Punch 2021
The Tata Punch is the company’s first micro-SUV. The business has revealed a production-spec photograph of the SUV, which was previously known as the Tata HBX. The new Tata Punch micro-SUV, which is a budget-friendly car, is the brand’s smallest SUV. A noteworthy point is that the production-spec Tata Punch is that it closely resembles the HBX concept shown at the 2020 Auto Show.
Tata Motors has given its latest SUV the name ‘Punch.’ Tata Motors introduced the Punch, its first SUV built on ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture), designed under the Impact 2.0 design language, on Monday, ahead of its nationwide introduction this festival season.
“Tata Punch, as the name suggests, is an active vehicle with the ability to drive anywhere,” said Shailesh Chandra, President, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Business Unit. This is a vehicle that genuinely punches above its weight, being light on its feet and powerful in its capacity. The punch will be loaded with superlatives thanks to a superb combination of spectacular design, technology, and driving dynamics.
Tata Punch : Interior body
While the interiors have yet to be disclosed, we can expect the dashboard design to be similar to the concept, with a free-standing 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple car play (similar to previous-gen Tata hatchbacks) and square-shaped AC vents.
Many interior components, such as the three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, HVAC controls, and even the part-digital instrument cluster, will be shared from its previous brothers. So there will be less cost-cutting in many areas

Tata Punch : Exterior body
The front bumper and body cladding have been toned down from the HBX concept, according to the photograph supplied by Tata Motors. The squared wheel arches, high stance, and thick cladding all around, however, give it an SUV-like appearance. Tata’s characteristic Tri-arrow design elements are also included on the front bumper, which also contains a pair of fog lamps.
The roof has a lovely floating aspect thanks to the dual-tone exterior paint options. The Punch comes equipped with a set of beautiful 16-inch wheels. Tata, on the other hand, has yet to show the micro-back SUV’s end design.
Power and transmission
The Punch micro-SUV is likely to be powered by two 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engines. The lower-spec variant will have a naturally aspirated engine that makes 83 horsepower and will be used on the Tiago and Tigor. Meanwhile, higher-end models are expected to feature the same 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that powers the Altroz iTurbo.
A 5-speed manual and an automatic transmission will most likely be available. As far as the colours, the official leaks have portrayed a pale blue from Nexon and as punch can be expected in standard black, white, red or limited edition colours.
Pricing and availability
The Punch will compete against high-riding crossovers such as the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the upcoming Hyundai Casper. It will also compete with Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger, which are both entry-level compact SUVs and Tata Punch will embark itself as a revolutionary machine in the Indian Car industry.
The Punch is expected to have a starting price of Rs 5 Lakh and will be available throughout India.
