Simple Energy One: The Electric Scooter Revolution Begins in India

Simple Energy, a Bangalore-based company, is set to launch the Simple Energy One in India in May 2023. Priced between ₹1,00,000 and ₹1,05,000, the Simple One aims to compete with electric scooters like the Ola S1, Ather 450X, and Bajaj Chetak.

The Simple One features a 4.8kWh battery pack, providing a claimed range of 203km in Eco mode. It is equipped with a 4.5kW motor, delivering 72Nm of torque and achieving a claimed 0-40 time of 2.95 seconds. The top speed of the scooter varies between 98kmph and 105kmph depending on the tire selection.

Notable features of the Simple One include four riding modes – Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. It boasts a 7-inch touchscreen with 4G and Bluetooth connectivity, along with full-LED lighting. The scooter offers music and calls control, navigation, vehicle tracking, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Additional features include find-my-bike, geo-fencing, and a spacious 30-liter under-seat storage compartment.

The Simple One will be available in four color options: Azure Blue, Brazen Black, Grace White, and Namma Red. Similar electric scooters currently available in the market include the Okaya Faast F2T, iVOOMi Jeet X, Odysse Trot, and the Lambretta V125, which is set to launch in India in June 2023.
