Renault to end Duster legacy in India by 2021

Since 2010, the Dacia Duster (Renault duster) has been a tiny crossover SUV jointly developed and marketed by Renault and its Romanian affiliate Dacia. In other areas, including Latin America, Russia, Ukraine, Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa, it is known as the Renault Duster.

Practically the Duster has surpassed the hottest SUV, the Kia Seltos as the most powerful SUV in the segment. While this may excite the driving enthusiast, the Duster’s cabin is still lacking in quality and ergonomics. It is in severe need of the generation update that was given to overseas markets in 2019.

Renault Duster in 2021

The Renault Duster could be on its way out in India, according to a new media story claiming that the French automaker is going to phase out the vehicle. According to the article, the Duster is being phased out of production in order to cut costs and boost profits. The final batch of Dusters is expected to roll off the assembly line in October 2021.

The Duster was one of the first automobiles in the C-SUV sector to be released. For nearly a decade, the car has been available in India. Renault has not released a generation upgrade for the Duster in India, despite the fact that it is available in other countries as Dacia duster.

As far as the interior of the upcoming duster is scheduled to be totally redone, including seats and headrests. Furthermore, the center console will be lifted to improve the in-cabin experience. A broad armrest, as well as an 8-inch infotainment system, will be available

Renault duster in Overseas market

In the overseas market, the second-generation Duster gets new Y-shaped LED DRLs, revised tail lamps, and LED turn indicators. The car’s front end appears to be modern, with several futuristic characteristics. The previous generation’s side profile has been maintained. The car’s back end is similarly relatively identical, but it features a redesigned tail lamp configuration. New 16-inch and 17-inch wheels have been added to the vehicle.

In other countries, the new-generation Duster is available with a choice of engine and transmission options. Renault is expected to stick to petrol engines for the Indian market. We do hope, though, that the manufacturer brings back diesel engines for this capable machine. Furthermore, at a time when the category is crowded with new cars, Renault could really use a 4WD, especially with overkill items like the recently announced Mahindra XUV700

Automatic climate control, cruise control, a semi-digital instrument panel, a multifunction steering wheel, a six-speaker system, onboard navigation, and voice command are expected to be included in the new-generation Duster. Renault may also include features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, and a 360-degree parking camera, which it already offers in Kiger.

A Renault Duster 7-seater model has been sighted testing in overseas markets. Given the growing popularity of 7-seaters in India, Renault is expected to launch its version of the Duster to the nation as well. Renault will be able to expand its range in the country as a result of this.
