Xiaomi will stop providing MIUI12 software updates to some old Redmi smartphones. A few months ago Xiaomi promised the MIUI12 updates in a staged manner to all old Redmi phones. Now, this news has disappointed many Mi fans who were using the old Redmi phones.
Many users who already updated their devices to MIUI12 are not satisfied due to a lot of bugs in the user interface. Xiaomi has messed up with software updates this time. However, MIUI 10 was better and responsive when compared with the latest skin. Many of the Poco and Redmi device users faced random reboots, system hang, and poor performance.

Xiaomi has announced in its community forum that there will no more MIUI updates to old Redmi devices. The list of Redmi phones which are not eligible for MIUI 12 updates are Redmi 7, Redmi Y3, Redmi 6A, and Redmi 6.
In an official statement, Xiaomi said that four of the old Redmi devices will not get the latest MIUI 12 updates due to compatibility and performance issues. Recently Redmi also announced the official rollout of Android 11 with MIUI 12 skin, hope this will fix the many bugs in the Note 9 series.
