Chinese smartphone manufacturer Redmi, which has an offshoot from the Chinese brand Xiaomi, aims to provide value for money smartphones in the Indian market. The latest hot talk of the town was its upcoming Redmi 10 prime since Xiaomi recently hiked most of its best selling smartphones in and around 20000. And now finally Redmi 10 prime has launched in India.
Redmi 10 prime design
Redmi 10 Prime comes with an Evol design (similar to the previous note series) and houses a 6.5 inch Full HD+ 90hz LCD with a middle dot camera and weighing 192g which is less than its predecessor. It has Corning Gorilla glass protection along with dust and splash-proof body and dual graphite sheets for better heat dissipation and rubberized ports. The 90hz refresh rate adapts for individual apps. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor along with power and volume buttons.
Redmi 10 prime processor
Redmi 10 prime is powered by Mediatek Helio G88 Processor, which is built upon a 12nm chipset and mainly focuses on gaming. it’s an Octa-core processor (2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55) and comes with Mali G52 GPU. This combination excels an Antutu score of 238,114. As far as the connectivity, the mobile has dual-band WiFi.
The Redmi 10 Prime comes with MIUI 12.5 out of the box along with an improved Game turbo. The Redmi 10 prime also comes with Ram expandable feature, which creates a virtual ram with the help of internal storage ( Upto 2GB Ram)
Redmi 10 prime : Storage and battery
As mentioned, the ram can be expanded virtually. The base variant comes with 4GB ram (64GB) and 6GB Ram (128GB).
The device gets juiced up with a mammoth 6000 mAh battery along with 18W USB type C fast charging support. Surprisingly a 22.5W charger is provided in the box and it also supports reverse charging (9W).
Redmi 10 prime : Camera
Redmi 10 prime houses a quad Camera with a 50MP primary sensor along with some usual 8MP ultrawide lens with 120° FOV and 2MP depth with 2MP macro lens with 2X zoom. The front camera is an 8MP shooter. In terms of video, a maximum of 1080P at 30 fps is supported along with Redmi’s classic camera features like slo-mo, timelapse, Pro colour, Sky filter and Kaleidoscope modes.
Miscellaneous
A headphone jack along with a decent dual speaker setup is also present on the top considering most companies ditch that for space.
Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, Infrared port and a type C connector jack are also present.
Pricing and availability
Three colours namely, Bifrost Blue, Phantom Black, Astral White are listed on its site.
The pricing for the base Variant (4+64GB) is 12,499 INR and for another (6+128GB) variant it is priced at 14,499 INR. There’s a special bank offer with HDFC credit card upto 750 INR less. The phone will be available in Mi.com, Mi Home, Amazon and exclusive Mi partners and available from September 7. It’s definitely a tough competitor to other brands in its price range.
