Even the 4 edges are curved and there won’t be any physical borders in the phone’s body. It’s a breathtaking 88° curved display with a technology that includes bending of glass molecules and extending them so as to look like an infinite display. Worth noting that this display is bright enough to power up the entire phone. This creates a new smartphone factor and Xiaomi claims it to represent the sum of 46 groundbreaking patents. an official teaser also revealed where the first thing to be noted was zero ports.

No ports in the sense there will no wired charging and no physical buttons. Capacitive touchscreen controls for power, volume up and down, and few dedicated buttons can solve this.

This is a part where Xiaomi can collaborate its Air charging technology with this beautiful tech piece. The notification icons and a mini display can been seen on the sides which enhances its aesthetic value. As a keynote Mi mix alpha was launch on 24th September 2019 with a 7.92 inch wraparound display and a massive 108 MP camera. Even this was unveiled as a concept phone but was later announced as production ready phone with few features to be stepped down from the original version. Unfortunately because of R&D complexities this prototype never came out for sale.

This form factor seems promising and we can expect the same in upcoming Xiaomi’s flagship phones. As the showcased phone runs on MIUI, more dynamic wallpapers optimised for curved screens can be seen. But practically speaking concept phones never outraged most of the time. Let us hope Xiaomi breaks this myth soon.
