MIUI 12 introduced Random reboot bug in new update

A new major bug was found in Redmi & POCO devices, which randomly reboots the device. Further researching on the problem led us to know that the Airtel Thanks app triggered the system launcher causing a continuous reboot. An error stating “Find device has stopped unexpectedly” appeared on screen as reported by many users.

How to solve the random reboot issue?

However, the problem has been solved by uninstalling the Airtel Thanks app but, there is a catch. While the device is being rebooted randomly, it is quite difficult to uninstall the app. You need to be fast when you’re trying to uninstalling the Airtel Thanks app. Another method is to hard reset the device by pressing the volume down+ power button, which many of the users don’t prefer to do it. Don’t forget to clear the cache memory of System Launcher / Poco launcher. This bug may be fixed in the next MIUI update.

After Xiaomi’s success in India, now it looks like they are least bothered about the software support. Many users are facing different kinds of bugs which forcing them to move on to other brands. Anyhow many users opted for custom ROMs. If Xiaomi continues the same, they may lose more hardcore My fans due to this buggy MIUI.

How to clear cache memory?

You can follow the below steps to clear cache memory. (Device used : Redmi K20 Pro).

1. Go to settings from home screen
2. Click on Apps then click on Manage apps
3. Search for Poco launcher / System launcher and click on it
4. Click on clear data and select clear cache

We hope Xiaomi and Airtel are well aware of the issue and might release a fix very soon.
