It may require accounts with suspect behaviour to produce a video selfie, according to Instagram’s public relations team on Twitter. The tool does not utilise face recognition, according to the business, and its teams evaluate the videos to see if “there’s a real person behind the account.”
Meanwhile, according to a picture shared on Twitter by social media analyst Matt Navarra, the photo-sharing app is validating users’ identities through video selfies, while “Meta claims not to gather biometric data.”
Another user provided a screenshot of the support screen demanding a video selfie. The image showed that when the function is activated; the app requests a video of the user’s face from all angles to confirm that they are a real person. It displays the verification screen for many users.

However, it’s clear that Meta is attempting to limit the number of false or spam accounts on the site through this method. However, Meta has not stated whether or it may require everyone to submit a video selfie in the future.
The business is also putting its ‘Take A Break’ function to the test, which will remind users to exit the app after a certain amount of time has passed
