More than 120 bogus cryptocurrency mining apps are still available online, according to Trend Micro’s Mobile App Reputation Service (MARS). Between July 2020 and July 2021, around 4,500 people were affected by these apps, which do not have cryptocurrency mining capabilities and trick users into watching in-app adverts “It was stated.

Precautionary measures

It is recommended that individuals carefully research apps before downloading them. When fake apps are released, they usually earn a lot of 5-star ratings. It could be a fraudulent app if the app stops running in the background or if the phone is reset. In general, a false app can take confidential details like a bank, Aadhar etc.,

Always try to install apps suggested by seniors who are already well versed in that area.

Companies, in particular, should employ a managed spam filter service because it can be difficult to discern between original and fake apps. Even when using a trusted app, it’s also a good idea to pay more attention. Because suspicious, malware and bugs are rarely identified as such, and once it gets infected, it will be already late to prevent.
