Flipkart exclusive Nothing ear (1) Bluetooth headset launched in India

A London-based consumer technology company backed up by Carl Pei (former co-founder of OnePlus ) teased something, which is actually “Nothing”.


A few weeks back, the company came intro entry and teased its first-ever Bluetooth true wireless headset, which targeted the mid-range segment.

Yesterday the company has also confirmed its Nothing ear (1) Bluetooth headset which is to be sold exclusively via Flipkart (India).

Overview and Specifications

Generally, it’s a true wireless stereo earphone. Its appearance is the eye-catching factor here because it boasts a unique transparent design. It also comes with wireless charging and active noise cancellation up to 40db. Box content includes extra ear tips, a USB type C cable, and some paperwork.

Both the earbuds and charging case are made up of clear transparent plastic. So it’s very much easy to see through the internals.

Eartips are white with a black stem. Individual earbuds weigh about 4.7g. The buds house a powerful 11.6 mm driver tuned to support SBC and AAC Codecs. High-quality sound is coupled with a Bluetooth 5.2 Connectivity for lossless audio playback is also present.

Touch controls are present to ease Active noise cancellation with a single touch. Rest all other controls can also be customized via an App that can be downloaded on Android /iOS.


The equalizer can also be adjusted with this app as per individuals’ tastes. The microphone is designed in such an algorithm that can even block wind noises to an extent, which results in better voice quality.

Similar to Apple AirPods, the Nothing earbuds have two ANC modes. One can completely block (Maximum Mode) the external sound and the other lets some transparency in sound (Light mode). The earbuds also have ear detection.

In terms of battery, on a single charge, it can last up to 4 hours (31 maH) with ANC on, and with ANC off it can last up to 5.5 hours. the entire case can last for 34 hours (570 maH). The charging case is capable of Wireless charging and most Qi universal Type C chargers can be used to charge.

The earbuds also come with an IPX4 splash rating, which can withstand light showers and sweats.

Pricing and availability

The Nothing ear(1) Bluetooth headset will be available in 45 countries, including the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, and India, for $99 / €99 / £99 / INR 5,999. Interestingly 100 units will have their unit number engraved on the bud itself.

In India it will be sold exclusively via Flipkart and its availability will be 17th August. On paper, it will rule the sub ₹6000 price segment.
