Five persons were arrested in Bikaner on Sunday for allegedly attempting to rig the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET)-2021 exam. They were discovered wearing Bluetooth gadgets in their slippers.

In many districts, including Jaipur and Ajmer, the state government has blocked mobile internet and bulk SMS/MMS services before the exam. All 33 districts had a total of 3,993 exam centres set up.

Regardless, several students attempted to cheat on the exam. Five persons were arrested in Bikaner after they were discovered wearing Bluetooth-enabled slippers.

Seven more people were apprehended in various locations in connection with the REET exam fraud.

Bikaner Superintendent of Police Priti Chandra told PTI that the five people apprehended were wearing slippers with the devices attached. Madan Lal and Trilokchand, two of them, are accused gang members who provided the slippers to candidates or their families, while the other three were REET candidates.

“They were apprehended before the exam at a bus stop near the Gangashahar police station. The slippers and other items were discovered during the search. “The main accused, the gang boss, is on the run, while two gang members have been apprehended,” she was cited as saying by PTI.

The slippers were offered to candidates for a fee of Rs. 6 lakh, according to the SP. Police in other areas, including Sikar, Pratapgarh, and Ajmer, was alerted as a result of the gang members’ intelligence, according to Chandra.
