Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile platforms, which are designed to provide immersive experience in a smartphone

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform is a high-end smartphone processor that was released in late 2020 and is built by Samsung in a 5 nm process. This was the company’s flagship processor that can be seen obviously in flagship phones.

Snapdragon 895

Qualcomm is working on its next-generation flagship SoC, which is likely to be launched in early December and is rumoured to be called the Snapdragon 895 (898 in some areas) SoC. Qualcomm is rumoured to be half a month ahead of schedule, which means the chipset could be released sooner than expected. As a result, OEMs are expected to release phones ahead of schedule, and knowing that Xiaomi and Qualcomm have previously collaborated, the flagship Mi 12 could be unveiled this year.

The Snapdragon 895 will also be found in flagships that launch in the early half of the second year, according to the report. According to the source, Qualcomm will release the Snapdragon 895+ SoC in June, and this little improvement will power products in the second half of 2022. The Snapdragon 888+ was recently revealed last week for this year’s flagship phones, which will come in the second half of the year.

Snapdragon 895 : Geekbench scores

Initial Geekbench results for the Snapdragon 895 have been said to be up to 20% higher than the SD888.(CPU – 12.42GHz+32.17GHz+1.79GHz)

On the Geekbench benchmark test, the Snapdragon 895 received a single-core score of 1,250 points and a multi-core score of 4,000 points. In comparison, the Snapdragon 888, which was once the flagship chip, scores roughly 1,120 in single-core tests and around 3,300 in multi-core testing. As a result, the performance difference indicates a 12 percent gain in peak single-core performance and a 20 percent total performance improvement. This would result in a huge boost in performance over the next chipset.

The Adreno 730, Qualcomm’s next-generation GPU, is also mentioned in the same leak. The AMD RDNA 2 mobile GPU, which is slated to be used by Samsung in its next-generation flagship Exynos chip, will, according to the post, be a superior overall performer than Qualcomm’s Adreno. However, it makes no particular numbers or benchmarking data to support the claim, thus more information on how the new generation GPUs will perform remains a mystery.

Snapdragon 895 : Expected mobiles

The Snapdragon 895 is expected to be released at the end of 2021, with the first phones sporting the flagship SoC arriving in the first quarter of the following year. It will be fascinating to see what the future holds. Apple is anticipated to stick with the 5nm process for the rest of the year before moving to 4nm next year. The company is also rumoured to be concentrating on building laptop chipsets, which might be released as early as 2022.

Xiaomi will very certainly announce the Mi 12 soon after, just as it did with the Mi 11. The Mi 11 was first unveiled in December of last year, and it went on sale in February of this year. As of now, we know very little about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 12, but it is expected to feature a processor and camera upgrade at the very least.

According to rumours, the Snapdragon 895 will be manufactured on Samsung’s 4nm node, while the 895+ will be manufactured on TSMC’s 4nm node.
