Cashback is being prepared for customers who use WhatsApp to make payments

For the time being, cashback is only available in India and Brazil using the UPI payment mechanism

WhatsApp Payments beta was released in India in early 2018. In November 2020, the service exited beta. In India, Google Pay, a Facebook competitor, also offers a UPI-based payment service. Google Pay also pays consumers for using its platform for transactions and bill payments with cashback and other incentives.

Users that utilise the Payments function on WhatsApp will soon be rewarded with cashback. The messaging app originally launched the Payments function in India and Brazil, and it is now putting the service to the test in India to reward users. Payment chat shortcuts had already been implemented to WhatsApp to allow users to send money fast.

Wabetainfo was the first to notice WhatsApp’s new cashback feature, which is presently being tested. A screenshot supplied by the features tracker showed a new cashback banner at the top of the chat window. “Get cashback on your next payment,” stated the advertising. To begin, simply tap.” It is unclear whether users will receive rewards after making their first payment or before making their second.

“It’s unclear if everyone would be eligible for the payback or only those who have never sent a payment over WhatsApp, but WhatsApp will clarify this once the service is enabled.

Note that this is limited to UPI payments in India, that you can only get one cashback, and that you could gain up to Rs 10 cashback for your payment (though this number may change before the official introduction of the feature),” according to a report by wabetainfo.

Because the functionality is still in development, beta users may not be able to test it right immediately. Users in India, on the other hand, would be able to get cashback on their payments whenever WhatsApp plans a stable rollout.

WhatsApp has yet to issue an official statement on the subject. So, until then, take the information with a mild concern

Aside from that, WhatsApp is planning to remove the Messenger Rooms shortcut from the Chat share sheet in the near future. Facebook Messenger Rooms allowed up to 50 people to join a group call. The film, however, did not go down well with the audience.

Because it did not receive the kind of reception WhatsApp had hoped for, the feature has been removed. If you still see the Rooms option in your WhatsApp app, you may need to update to WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.21.190.11 and WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.19.15 if you are a beta user.
