iPhone 15 Pro & Pro Max Design and Display

One of the most striking changes in this year’s iPhone Pro models is the use of a titanium alloy chassis, replacing the stainless steel used in previous versions. Titanium offers both strength and lightweight advantages, making the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max the lightest Apple has ever produced. On the front, you’ll find the Dynamic Island, capable of performing even more tricks.

A notable addition to the design is the solid-state Action button, which replaces the traditional mute switch. This button not only handles mute functions but can also be configured to execute various commands, such as launching the camera app, invoking Shortcuts, or starting a voice memo.

Both models retain their OLED displays, with the iPhone 15 Pro at 6.1 inches and the Pro Max at 6.7 inches. These displays are brighter, feature more efficient LTPO controllers, and have thinner bezels. Plus, they come with an adaptive refresh rate (ProMotion-enabled) and an Always-on display.

Performance Boost

Setting the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max apart from their vanilla counterparts is the new A17 Bionic chip. This chip is the first of its kind, built on a 3nm process, offering improved processing performance and efficiency. With a 6-core processor and a 6-core GPU, it outpaces the A16 chip’s graphics with an additional core. Users can enjoy 8GB of RAM and choose from storage options of up to a whopping 1TB.

Camera Upgrades

The camera systems on these Pro models have received a significant upgrade. Both feature a 48MP primary lens, with Apple claiming a larger sensor compared to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, promising improved low-light capabilities. Notably, the ultra-wide-angle lens can now double as a macro lens.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max goes a step further with a periscope lens, enabling 5x optical zoom, compared to the 3x on the iPhone 15 Pro and 2x on the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus.

Battery Life

Despite the performance enhancements and additional features, Apple assures that battery life remains unchanged. The Pro models claim to deliver up to 29 hours of video playback time.

Pricing and Availability

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be available in stunning black titanium, white titanium, and blue titanium colors. The iPhone 15 Pro starts at $999, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at $1,199. The base model includes 128GB of storage, with options to upgrade to higher capacities.
