Still, WhatsApp remains the lord of instant messaging in terms of the user base. Let us dig into some cool features of the telegram which still do not exist on WhatsApp.
1. Add Nearby People and Group
Recently Telegram introduced the “People Nearby” feature. In this we can connect with people who are nearby, this requires location access to fetch the telegram users or groups nearby. This feature lets you add someone to your telegram chat without sharing the number.
To enable this feature, click on the menu on the top right corner, then select People Nearby, now you can get the list of people or groups nearby. You can also make yourself visible or not in the People nearby window.
2. Chat Folders
Another amazing feature of the telegram is the chat folder. You may have subscribed to many channels, and groups, and also includes personal chats. A chat folder allows you to create a separate folder for your channels and personal chats, for example, all the personal chats can be moved to a separate folder and all the subscribed channels to another folder. so, it will not look messy while using the telegram. This feature is just amazing, even though I do use this feature for a long time.
To enable this feature, Go to the menu on the top right corner, tap on setting and then tap on Chat folders. In this, you can create as many folders as per your convenience.
3. Edit Sent Messages
Most of the time, we make most of the typing errors in a hurry. This amazing feature allows you to edit the already sent text. To edit the text, click on the text you get a popup to edit the text. Also, there are no time-bound restrictions for editing messages on Telegram.
4. Send Silent Messages
Telegram allows you to send a silent text even though the receiver is not in DND mode. This is one of the fantastic features of the telegram. This silent text feature will not make any sound or notification for the text you sent.
To send a silent message, after typing the text, tap and hold on to the send button. A pop-up will appear then click on “Send without sound”.
5. Delete Sender’s Message
How about deleting the text of someone who has sent it to you permanently? weird right. Telegram allows you to delete text messages of the sender permanently even for them.
To use this feature, hold on to the text message you need to delete and click on the delete button in the top right corner. A pop-up will appear asking to delete the sender too, tick on it as shown in the below picture.
