Xiaomi 11 lite NE 5G Review : the new killer?

After successfully launching its slimmest and lightest smartphone of 2021 – Mi 11 Lite 4G in India, Xiaomi recently introduced the 5G model of the 11 Lite called Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G with top-end capabilities in India. This smartphone, like the Mi 11 Lite 4G, is likewise marketed as the thinnest and lightest.

In terms of style and appearance, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G is stunning and has a luxury feel to it, just like the other Mi 11 series smartphones. The smartphone is, without a doubt, the thinnest and lightest of 2021. The smartphone is light and comfortable to use, and it will offer you a pleasant experience when you hold it in your hands. It has a frosted glass with a smooth anti-glare matte coating that helps to reduce fingerprint smudges. The design has razor-thin 1.88mm bezels on both the top and side for maximum screen size and a comfortable in-hand grip.

This new slimmest smartphone features a triple camera setup with 64MP, a 6.55-inch FHD AMOLED Dot display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC.

We spent almost a week reviewing the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G Tuscany Coral edition, which competes with the OnePlus Nord 2, Realme GT, and Vivo iQOO Z5 5G. Although the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G and Mi 11 Lite 4G have similar designs, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G is a significant upgrade over the Mi 11 Lite 4G, particularly in terms of performance, thanks to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G chipset. Although it is a 5G smartphone, Xiaomi has managed to make it one of the most convenient, comfortable, and lightest to use.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G is an excellent alternative for buyers seeking a smartphone for around Rs 30,000 because the brand did not sacrifice features or performance to make this phone lighter. As previously said, the smartphone has high-end features that will appeal to young buyers. The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G boasts an ultra-thin body (only 6.81mm) and is lightweight (just 158gm). The device also has NFC built-in and is the first 10-bit smartphone with Dolby Vision in the class.

Whether you’re conversing on the phone for hours or watching IPL matches and web series on OTT platforms, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G won’t let you down – it’s comfortable to hold and carry for long periods. The device’s plastic frames and glass back gave it a quality feel in our hands. The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G includes a curved square camera block on the back with a triple-camera module and an LED flash in the upper left corner, as well as Xiaomi 5G branding. It has a 64-megapixel primary camera with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 5-megapixel tele-macro camera. The bezels on the device are slim.

The volume rocker and power button are on the right side of the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, along with the side-mounted fingerprint scanner (which performed admirably during our testing), and the speaker grille, twin stereo speakers, USB-C connector, and dual nano-SIM card slot are on the bottom. The 3.5mm jack has been removed from the smartphone, which is the sole disappointment. Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v5.20, NFC, Infrared, USB Type-C, 3G, and 4G are all available on the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). An accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, proximity, and fingerprint scanner are among the phone’s sensors.

The device’s display is one of its main selling points. This Xiaomi phone features a 6.55-inch FHD AMOLED DotDisplay. Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G is a segment-first 10-bit smartphone featuring a Dolby Vision display and HDR 10+ support, inspired by the Mi 11 Ultra. The combination of the device’s 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate results in a smoother device experience with no lags or stutters. The display features a camera hole in the upper left corner, while the device’s sides have tiny bezels. The AI Face Unlock feature on the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G worked quickly. Thanks to the AMOLED display, the colours looked great on screen.

While reading through your feed or playing games, the gadget provides a smooth experience. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front for further protection, as well as eye care features including a 360 ambient light sensor, Sunlight mode 3.0, and Reading mode 3.0 to reduce eye strain. Overall, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G display provided an excellent user experience.

For video calls and pictures, the smartphone also boasts a 20MP front camera. The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, like all Xiaomi premium models, comes with a plethora of photography functions. The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE’s camera setup includes 50+ director modes that you can use to make amazing videos. This contains cool camera features like One-Click AI Cinema, cinematic video effects, Vlog mode, and more, as well as camera functions like Pro Mode, Portrait, Night, 64MP, Slow Motion, Panorama, and Time-Lapse

In bright lighting circumstances, the device shot detailed, high-resolution photographs that were colourful. When compared to other smartphones in this price range, the night mode was good and shot some good images in low-light circumstances. Overall, it has yielded positive results. The front camera was likewise capable of capturing vivid and vibrant selfies as well as recording decent videos. However, the selfie camera lacked sharpness in low light, but the overall camera experience with the front camera was satisfactory.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC powers the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G in terms of performance. The phone is powered by Google’s Android 11 operating system, with MIUI 12.5 on top. This phone provided lag-free gaming while playing Temple Run 2, Battlegrounds Mobile India, Garena Free Fire Mobile, and Call of Duty: Mobile. In basic settings, the graphic quality was acceptable. Overall, the gadget is quick and responsive, and navigating between various social networking networks and programmes was seamless.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G is powered by a 4250mAh battery that may easily last an entire day. It also supports 33W fast charging and can be charged from 0 to 50% in just 20 minutes. This phone’s battery is less than 4,500 mAh, however, it lasted more than 24 hours in normal use. We had no problems with overheating during normal to vigorous use. The battery’s overall performance was excellent.
